This is a thread is a place where we can discuss our basic tactics to use in corp battles.

I personally noticed that we tend to have everyone run to one objective at a time, we should have this more organized then just reaction. I propose a three squad system. (this is based on an 8 player team)

Squads

Squad A, 3 people: Off of spawn they pick the closest cannon, and proceed to defend it for the rest of the game, if it is taken they will be the main attackers on it.

Squad B, 3 people: Off of spawn squad B runs to the second closest objective and like squad A defends it for the rest of the game, as well if it is taken they will be the main attackers on it.

Both Squad A and Squad B should have at least one medic.

Squad C, 2 people: This is the slayer squad, the purpose of this squad is to annoy the enemies and stop them from getting to our objectives. Off of spawn squad C runs towards furthest objective to attempt to take the enemies closest objective. Success is not necessarily in this attack as it is only designed to delay the enemies. Squad C will also help with either Squad A or Squad B if their objective gets taken to help regain it. They may also help out at our two defensive objectives if there is a siege but they should be attacking more from the outside than the inside. This squad should stick together and do a lot of flanking as well as calling out where the enemies are.

War Room Checklist

  • Activate voice on Team Chat.
  • Determine Squad Leaders for A & B, and two members (with mics) for Squad C
  • Determine who will be on Squad A
  • Determine who will be on Squad B
  • Review Corp Battle Tactics over Mic.
  • Review any special tactics for specific map
  • Review roster, assure everyone is still present
  • Commence battle

One suggestion to all mercenaries, and especially Squad C. Do not, and I repeat, do NOT spawn from the MCC. I find it significantly faster spawning over at the land objective.

Also, I'd like to mention that another 'tactic' would be to have everyone on Team Channel. People who are squad leaders should preferentially be those who have mics, so that way they may give their squad orders. Squad C should only be two guys with mics. These guys should be the eyes and ears of the Corporation since they are closest to the enemy.

With squad C communication will be key both to keep each other alive as well as to help your team mates out

So we will need at leaat 4 people with mics. 1 on A, 1 on B, and 2 on C.

I will gladly take a communication role, for any squad. Preferably squad A.

Edited the post with a checklist.

Anyway, with Squad C, as they are going for the furthest objective, we would want people with fast and agile dropsuits, to get there in time, correct?

Yes, squad C is our best players, and the ones who are playing the best that day. We need them to be agile, quick but still with the ability to win 1v1 or one against many battles.

Let's get a list of squads. I would like to nominate myself for A. I can do a great job holding one area, and obviously wouldn't do as well as others up front with C.

Again, let's start to make squad roster. Smile

Rosters are a bad idea. People sometimes don't show up. It would be far more efficient to keep it flexible the way it is.

Or how about a list where our players would be best suited? Kind of like their primary squad positions? It can still be flexible.

Or even better. Their specialities. Squad positions are useless if we don't know what they specialize in.

I would nominate myself for C but I dont have a mic, so I guess it will be good if i on B, since Im more likey to fight.
EDIT: Also, C should be the team that takes CRUs, SDs, and turrents.

Now that we have 16 player matches in FW and PC we need a way to keep chatter to a minimum while still staying in touch with everyone else. So that obviously means using only Team chat instead of Squad.

That's three squads of 6-6-4 or four squads of 4. Either way you cut it, that's 16 people with hopefully mics (I'm sure exceptions will be made) all talking at once over a large field. What does that all equal? A hell of a lot of confusion! So here's what I think would help. We use the Mute button. Yes, that's right! But hear me out!

- Players will mute everyone NOT in their squad. That means they can only hear their squad members.

- Then the Squad leaders will unmute ONLY the other Squad leaders.

That means squads can still comprehend and understand each other, and Squad leaders can communicate with each other and pass down orders to their squads. Now, let's face it, we'd all like to have MAG's voice comms where we can switch between Squad, Platoon, and Company comms, but this will have to make do.

Discuss.

The only confusion that I see is if the squad members hear there leader talking to another squad leader, but doesnt understand which one they are talking to.

Very true, Navep. That would need to be discussed.

Also, if we are going to make squads, the sooner the better. Because once we have them we will be able to practice with our assigned squads more. Very Happy
